Salon & clinic FAQ
The questions owners ask us first — answered plainly.
What does it cost?
Nothing to start — joining Plan4beauty is free for salons and clinics. There is no set-up cost and no monthly software charge. We earn a commission on the payments we collect for you, agreed with you before you start and shown on every payout statement. We only earn when you do.
When do I get paid?
Collections run on schedule and are paid out to you on a regular schedule, with a statement showing every customer, every collection and the commission taken.
Do you take commission on my existing clients?
The commission rate agreed with you applies the same way whether you send a plan directly to a client who is already yours, or a new client finds you through Plan4beauty. There is no separate, higher rate for one or the other.
Do I have to publish anything in a marketplace?
No. Plenty of providers use Plan4beauty entirely privately, sending plans directly to their own clients, and that is a perfectly good way to use it.
Is this credit, finance or buy now pay later?
No. Your client is paying for a service, not borrowing. There is no credit application, no credit check, no interest and no credit agreement.
Who administers the money?
Collections are made through Plan4beauty, on behalf of your business, by Direct Debit. The service agreement itself is between you and your client — Plan4beauty administers the plan and the payment schedule.
What is the Direct Debit Guarantee, and does it expose me?
It is the protection every UK Direct Debit carries: a client who believes a payment was taken in error can reclaim it from their bank. It applies to every business in the country using Direct Debit. Reclaims are rare, and the most common cause is a client not recognising the payment — which is why we tell them in advance exactly what will appear on their statement.
What if a client claims they never agreed to the plan?
You have a digitally signed agreement showing what they saw and when they accepted it. This is a large part of why the agreement is generated rather than left to you.
Am I liable if I cannot deliver?
The service agreement is between you and your client. Tell us and we can suspend collections the same day, which limits the problem and protects your reputation.
What happens if a customer's payment fails?
Failed Direct Debits are retried automatically and you can see the status of every payment in your dashboard. One failure does not cancel a plan.
Can a client cancel?
Yes, at their bank, at any time, without needing our permission or yours. Collections stop, we tell you immediately, and your agreement governs the balance and anything already delivered.
Do I have to change my booking or till system?
No. Plan4beauty runs alongside whatever you use today, including a paper diary. Plans, contracts and payments live in Plan4beauty; your day-to-day booking and till workflow stays exactly as it is.
How do my customers join?
Two ways. In the salon, they scan your QR code and join in minutes. Or you build a personal offer and we send it to them by SMS and email — they approve it, sign digitally, and their plan starts.
Do I set my own prices?
Yes, entirely — totals, monthly amounts, term, inclusions, exclusions and your cancellation policy.
What kinds of business can join?
Hair salons, beauty salons, nail salons, tattoo studios, skin care clinics and non-surgical aesthetics practices across the UK. If you are not sure you fit, ask — the model works for most recurring treatment businesses.
Is there a contract or minimum term for salons?
We will walk you through the provider agreement before you start — plainly, with no surprises. Apply and we will send you everything to read in your own time.
Can I leave?
Yes, with notice. We will help you communicate the change to your existing clients so they are not left confused about a payment that stops, and you can export your client and plan data.
Prefer to just talk it through? Apply to join and we'll call you.
